10 Sep Reformation Brewery Opens In Downtown Woodstock
The new facility on Elm Street is now serving a starting selection of beers from the new workshop brewery.
“Thanks for all your words of encouragement, and we look forward to sharing the new space with you soon,” said CEO and co-founder Spencer Nix in a blog post on the company’s website. “This day has been made possible by the groundwork laid over the last five years of starting and establishing not only a business but a brand and a story. Reformation Brewery has always believed that why you drink is just as important as what you drink.”
In just a month, Reformation Brewery will hold a grand opening celebration at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6 at the facility at 105 Elm Street. The company’s new space will include an onsite kitchen, and two public bars — the Workshop and Study bars — serving 16 to 24 unique beers at any given time.
The 6,000-square-foot facility will comfortably serve more than 200 guests at a time, and will become the public taproom and event space for the brewery. For those who like to have a beer outdoors, Nix notes the facility will also include a true beer garden experience with shade provided by an old elm tree on the property.
You can also expect the space to host events such as Weekly Game Night, Yoga + Beer, Books & Brews, Brew HaHa, live music and more.
“Today we open Reformation Brewery in historic Downtown Woodstock and turn the page to a new chapter in our story,” Nix added. “While our values, vision, and mission will never change, you can expect us to try new things. With the opening of a research and development brewery we will be improving, innovating and creating beers that push us further as makers while still respecting the processes and techniques acquired and respected over beer’s long history.”
Another unique aspect about this new facility is Canton-based Queenie’s Southern Restaurant & Bar will serve as Reformation’s food partner for the downtown Woodstock research and development facility. Queenie’s is owned by Zach Kell, the man behind the popular Downtown Kitchen and Goin’ Coastal eateries in Canton.
Queenie’s is expected to serve lunch, dinner, and snack offerings designed to pair well with Reformation beers during scheduled hours of operation at the facility. Priced between $8 and $24, the menu will include simple dishes like smoked meats, barbecue tacos, and beer snacks.
